Short Story and Steampunk Praying Mantises

If you read my post from yesterday about ROW80, then you'll know that one of my goals is to write for 30 minutes each day. No matter what. Even if it doesn't go anywhere. It seems silly to make writing a goal, but currently I'm editing a novella and a novel. I've found that when I spend a lot of time doing edits, I lose out on the creation part.

So yesterday I set my timer and eeked out 1500 words on a short story that I can't wait to work on again today. It's not easy to explain but I guess it could be considered a wild west steampunk tale. The title isn't set in stone yet. The idea came to me from a piece of jewelry - go figure.

And just because this was too cool not to share - take a peek at a steampunk praying mantis!

Okay, I'm off to write. Thanks for stopping by!
