Humpty Dumpty

Why the picture of Humpty Dumpty you ask? It represents my past week.

See, I was Humpty Dumpty. Somewhere along the way I fell off the wall. My motivation, dedication, inspiration and confidence all shattered once they hit the ground. And I was left feeling empty and miserable.

Which sucks because I had started off with great intentions. But my positive attitude came and went like the Cheshire Cat. I don't know where my big list of what I planned to accomplish went, and neither do the king's horses and king's men who I sent out to search for them.

I didn't even want to do an update because I'm upset with myself. I let personal stuff and self-doubt rob me of reaching my goals. I also didn't want to bring anybody down who came to visit my page.

Fortunately I have my hands on some seriously intense superglue. So I'm taking those shattered pieces and putting them back together. And then I'm going to climb up the wall and sit there with a confident smile on my face.

My big hope is that come Wednesday, I'll have made a decent dent in what I want to get done.

  1. Well I'm envious of anybody who has "seriously intense superglue." I had did have some of that a long time ago, but I was inexperienced, and I stuck my fingers together.

My advice- focus on "work-in-progress" instead of "work-without-progress." Good luck! :)

  2. I can relate to this, as I've felt a bit like Humpty Dumpty over the past couple of days. I've not really got going on anything properly at all - am seriously in need of some super-glue myself!

Just popped over for the campaign to say hi, and thanks for taking the time to read and comment on my story. Hope to see more of you in the coming weeks.

Good luck with climbing back up that wall! :)

  3. I am so sorry to hear this but know EXACTLY how you feel. Writing can bring such purpose and meaning to us but it can also rip us apart.

I hope you super-glue works and I look forward to seeing how you have got on on Wednesday.

  4. Lol! I definitely have trouble with that glue - sometimes it works wonders and other times...what a mess! :) Definitely focusing on the progress. Thank you for stopping by CM!

  5. Yay, thank you Helen for stopping by! I think this week I'm making good progress with climbing back up that wall. Hopiing that once I'm there I'll sit up there for a good long while, lol. :)

  7. Thanks for giving us an honest visual of your day and many of us can relate. I don't mean to add any further burden upon you, but I do want to nominate you for the two awards that are going around. I know it can be a bit daunting at times.
