Iron Butterfly at Nevermet Press and the Liebster Blog Award!

I'm so excited to have my short story Iron Butterfly up at the Nevermet Press site :) Click Here to read. This story will also be included in their print anthology to release in 2012. I hope you enjoy the story and I have to say - the artwork is freaking fantastic! Seriously - I bow down to the amazing artist J. Lonnee. It fits my story perfectly.

I'd like to send out a big THANK YOU to Jamila Johnson - super sweet and talented gal that she is - honored me with the Liebster Blog Award! I'm jazzed :) Thank you so much my dear! *curtsies*

THE RULES:

1.Show your appreciation to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.
2.Reveal your top five picks and let them know by leaving a comment on their blog.
3.Post the award on your blog.
4.Bask in the camaraderie of the most supportive people on the internet—other writers.
5.And best of all—have bloggity fun and spread the love.

So, my top five picks are:

Angelina C Hansen (mornings wouldn't be the same w/o her)

Em (so inspirational)

Gene Lempp (super motivating and positive, treadmills beware!)

Wendy Jane (fun, quirky, talented)

Anne-Mhairi Simpson (Always has a fun, cool Wednesday word, and a positive attitude)

Yesterday I worked out an interesting short story idea and managed to get a few more pages of my novel edited. Yay progress! I also worked on my novella that is almost ready to sub.

All in all - the day is starting out positive. I hope yours is too!

Marie

  5. Thank you again! Still feeling warm and fuzzy this end!

I LOVED the Iron Butterfly. I am still new to the whole steampunk genre but I loved it, especially the world rocking line! Good job!

  6. Hi, Marie! I'm a fellow campaigner who has come to nose around on your site. Maybe if I learn more about steampunk, my stepdaughter will finally think I'm cool (probably not, but a girl can dream).

Looking forward to getting to know you and your work better during this campaign. Good luck!

  8. Oh god, just finished reading it. So. Much. Awesome. Lots of action and intensity, and I love how you have managed to weave in just enough backstory to give us a sense of the world and the relationships between Thaddeus and McKenna. The thought of writing short stories always makes me a trifle worried, but this is a wonderful example of doing it well.

  10. Thank you so much Jamila, I truly appreciate your feedback :) I do love short stories, they are my favorite. It's about the only time I get the whole backstory equation right in a story, lol. Thank you sweets :)

  11. Aww, thank you Em! The whole thing started with me wanting to write a story with Butterfly in the title. I started writing and then it morphed into its own thing. I wish everything I wrote went that smoothly, lol.

    :) *hugs*

  12. Congrats on the short story and the award! I am now going to add it to my long, long, long list of things to read that I will hopefully get to, but sometimes don't because I have no organizational skills. :)

But I really hope I do manage to get to it. If not, I'll just have to seek out the print anthology.
